Doc Martin - Series 7 on ABC in AUSTRALIA - Finally!!

Recently renewed UK drama Doc Martin is finally back for its seventh season on ABC next month.
It moves from Saturday to Sunday nights from 7:40pm February 7.

In the first episode Martin is in Portwenn, but his wife Louisa is not. After their tumultuous time last series, Louisa has gone to visit her mother in Spain: she wants some time to think and to get some perspective on their relationship. Martin is faced with two questions: will Louisa come back
to him, and what can he do to make sure that she does? He knows he needs to change for the sake of his marriage, and has promised Louisa he will see a therapist in order to help him do so.

  1. The first episode was dull and boring without Louisa. This show is nothing without Caroline Catz. She should get equal billing, if Clunes ego can stand it.

  2. What did Australia do to deserve such a horrible series???
Is ITV determined to inflict this misery on the world?

  3. I think Marty Feldman or Graham Chapman should play the Doc. Of course they've been dead for years but they can still give a better performance than Clunes.

  4. Series 8 opens with the Doc waking up in bed to find Elaine, Pauline and Morwenna hovering over him, arguing. He screams for help and PCs Mylow and Penhale come running in. Of course PC Mylow sits on the bed and tells him how lonely he is. He looks to the corner of the room where Aunt Joan and Ruth are arguing as to why little Marty is so weird. Finally he sees Louisa at the door and shouts her name. She replies "my name is Caroline, tosser!" Remeber when they had those great fantasy sequences in the EARLY episodes?

  5. Please get some new writers to make the last series watchable. It's depressing to see the Doc show little to any affection for his son. Clunes says he doesn't want the Doctor cured, but it's boring to se him stuck in his depressing rut. If anything the character has lost more of his humanity since series 1-3. Give the man a pulse, or give Louisa a hot-blooded lover.

  6. Clunes is trying to divert attention from his bad performance. Of course the Doc doesn't need to be cured. The hemophobia was present in the early series and they were great. Clunes started mailing in his performances playing the Doc as a cold one-dimensional character for the cash.

  7. Just watched Caroline Catz' new show "I want my wife back". Once again the actors were let down by writing that left them very little to work with. Leaves me longing for another series of Preston Front. Perhaps Lloydy is the mayor now.

  8. The DVD covers for series 1 - 4 state the show is "bloody hilarious" but by series 7 it's changed to "quirky". After selling this show as a comedy for several years the producers realize it's no longer funny, just a miserable drama. Congratulations ITV, at least you're honest.
